When I started reading and studying law I realized that the words I was reading sometimes took on different meanings than the meaning that I grew to know. Another thing I learned early on is that in order for me to have a fully informed understanding of what impact any word is going to have on my life, I must look not only at the definition of the word, but also at the presumption upon which the definition rests, and the implication thus created.
